Taco Dip Recipe

This taco dip has been in my family for years — it’s my mom’s recipe, and now it’s a go-to at most of the parties I host. It’s quick, easy, and always a favorite. The best part? You can customize it with your favorite toppings to make it your own.

Ingredients

• 1 block of cream cheese (softened)
• ½ packet taco seasoning (use your favorite brand, or make your own) 
• 1 jar of salsa (your favorite style)
• 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, taco blend, or your favorite)
• Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, black olives, avocado, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, green onions, sour cream, etc.
• Tortilla chips for serving (We love bite-size rounds)

Instructions

1. Mix the base
   Let the cream cheese soften, then mix it with ½ packet of taco seasoning until smooth.
   
   
2. Spread it out
   Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the bottom of a tray or shallow dish.
   
3. Add salsa
   Spoon salsa over the cream cheese layer, spreading it out evenly.
   
4. Top with cheese
   Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese across the salsa.
   
5. Customize with toppings
   Add your favorite extras — in my house, we usually keep it simple with shredded lettuce (on only a portion), but you can go all out with olives, avocado, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or green onions.
   
6. Serve & enjoy
   Chill until ready to serve, then dig in with tortilla chips. This dip never lasts long at parties!

Tips

• You can prep this dip a few hours ahead and keep it in the fridge.
• Make it kid-friendly by keeping toppings simple, or spice it up with hot salsa and jalapeños for the adults.
