That’s why May is recognized as Water Safety Month—a reminder for all of us to take simple, life-saving steps before diving into the season.

It starts with the basics:

• Always keep eyes on young swimmers. Supervision should be active and close—within arm’s reach.
• Use Coast Guard-approved life jackets any time kids are near open water, no matter their skill level.
• And don’t wait to start lessons. Swim instruction can reduce the risk of drowning for kids ages 1–4 by up to 88%.

It's a fun, interactive class where parents and children get in the water together to practice hands-on survival skills—just in time for summer.

We’re also bringing safety lessons straight to the community.
